QTRTD1 interacts with QTRT1 to form an active queuine tRNA-ribosyltransferase. This enzyme exchanges queuine for the guanine at the wobble position of tRNAs with GuN anticodons (tRNA-Asp, -Asn, -His and -Tyr), thereby forming the hypermodified nucleoside queuosine.
